I'm a parent and teacher and have four kids, including one with Down syndrome. I founded Sun Camp so kids with DS and their sibs could go to camp together, and make good long-term friends. I love to read and do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Whitney, Director of Kids Camp and Teens Camp
Hello families, my name is Miss Whitney if you don’t know me already. I’ve been involved at Sun Camp as a counselor and director for five seasons and I’m so excited to be back this summer! The pandemic was life altering for all of us and it’s about time we get together with friends to enjoy ourselves and make more happy memories. A bit of background from me starts seven years ago when I began working in a classroom as a special circumstance aide for children with special needs; I fell absolutely in love with the job and was inspired to get my Masters with an emphasis in special education. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed working with kids of all needs at every age and every stage, and I am currently working as a resource specialist at a Bay Area middle school. I’m very much looking forward to this season at Sun Camp and seeing faces old and new. PSA: expect lots of fun and laughter caused by epic amounts of silliness.

Hi my name is Victoria! I’m a premed student at UC Davis but I grew up in Redwood City. During high school I participated in Unified Sports, which is a program that creates social inclusion between individuals with and without intellectual disabilities through sports. It was such an amazing experience and now I’m so excited to be a counselor at Sun Camp again this year! I hope everyone is ready to have so much fun!!!

Hey! My name is Riley and I like to sing, play video games, and hang out with my 17-pound cat Smokey! I am currently going into my third year at College of San Mateo studying to be a pediatric nurse.

I am about to be a 4th year at Sacramento State and I’m interested in environmental studies and sustainability. On top of that I’ve been so excited all year for Sun Camp to come back around so I’m ready for another week full of fun!!
